Midwest Drift Union’s fourth round of competition saw a new points leader emerge, and jumbled the standings overall.

The track, Nashville Superspeedway, was the fastest track drivers had faced this year, with entry speeds into the first sweeper in excess of 90 mph.

The ever-popular Kris Hackenson drove the day in Dustin Siemaszek’s LS1-powered FC, due to his own car being out of commission due to engine troubles at round three.

Hackenson said he’d have his black S14, which he’s affectionately named “Blackbeard,” back in action for Street Life Tour on August 17.

Third place went to Cody Tobe, which also placed him at third in the points standings.

Brian Peter took home second place, becoming the overall points leader.

At his first MDU event of the year, Tyson Schmidt and his super-clean V8-powered S13 took home first and sits seventh in points.

Former points leader Bill Cook was absent this round due to a bad pocket bike accident by friend and fellow MDU driver, Josh Holt.

His absence left him second in points, just two behind Brian Peter.

The top five drivers in points are:

1. Brian Peter 85
2. Bill Cook 83
3. Cody Tobe 67
4. Kris Hackenson 63
5. Nick Thomas 62

With practically no breathing room in the standings, there is no doubt round five at Street Life Tour will determine the 2011 series champion.
