Back to Basics drift days are full day events for all drivers wanting and needing seat time. Come join us for another great day at a new facility, Flat Rock Speedway. This event is lead by Midwest veteran driver Mike Skudlarek & Detroit Drifting Co. Guest instructors will show up on occasion to help drivers progress and get better.
Spectators welcome, $15 at the gate, kids 12 & under are free.

Spectator entry: $15
Kids 12 and under: FREE
Veterans/active duty service (with valid ID): $10
Ride along pass: additional $5
This season we will be issuing separate ride along passes for spectators. Ride-Along passengers must be 18 years of age or older and bring a valid state or government issued photo ID. Passengers will need to verify with the driver(s) they are planning to ride with**. Attire for ride-alongs must be long pants and closed toed shoes (no sandals, flip flops, etc.). If you have your own helmet, it must be rated Snell SA2010 or newer. The ride-along wristbands are valid for the entirety of the event. Rides are allowed at the driver's discretion and at the discretion of MDU staff. Passengers must be properly seated and belted, and must utilize proper on track behavior I.E. hands inside the car at all times, etc.
**NOTE: Please ensure you have verified with a driver in advance that they are willing to allow passengers. Purchase of a ride-along pass does not guarantee a ride-along (these are mainly to accomodate friends and family of drivers), and as such, no refunds will be given.
Applications are open until Tuesday before any Back To Basics event and will be limited per event. Interested parties may email firstname.lastname@example.org for review. Applicants must include the below information.

08:00 AM – Gates Open (Drivers Load In – Technical Inspection)
09:30 AM – Mandatory Drivers Meeting
10:00 AM – Group A
11:00 AM – Group B
12:00 PM – OPEN DRIFT
2:00-2:30 PM – Break – COLD TRACK
04:00 PM - ALL DRIFTING STOP - CLEAN UP
05:00 PM - MANDATORY GATES CLOSED
You won’t get BETTER seat time anywhere else.

-All trash must be disposed of properly.
-No Alcohol will be allowed inside the facility. The use of alcohol or other recreational drugs is strictly prohibited.
-Concessions will not be available at the track. You are welcome to bring your own food, non-alcoholic beverages, grills, etc. There are restaurants near the track as well.
-No pets please.
-Schedule is subject to change.
-Back to Basics staff reserves the right to remove anyone from the premises for any reason. Dont be a jerk!
-No refunds will be given for any reason.
-This event will be ran rain or shine!

-Drivers will be assigned a group based off of previous experience and if they have a roll cage or not. Drivers may be reassigned to a different group at any time by Back to Basics staff.
-Please be respectful to the facility and the surrounding areas. Speeding or burnouts in the pit areas, service roads, or parking lots within the facility are strictly prohibited and will result in ejection from the event and possible suspension from future events.
